2007
Hyun Hee Moon turned professional in late 2003. She had success on the KLPGA tour pretty much right out of the gate, establishing herself as a top ten player on that tour in her rookie year of 2004. That year she collected five top tens including a third place finish. In 2005, she came closer to that elusive first win with two third place finishes and a fourth, but she was still not able to get over the hump.
She finally broke through in a big way in 2006. She had top ten finishes in five of her first six events that year, including her first runner up finish. But she made her biggest splash at the Hite Cup Championship, where she collected her first ever win. Shortly after that, she journeyed to America to try to qualify for the LPGA. She finished in first place at the first sectional qualifying tournament, but was only able to get conditional status on tour at Q-School finals. Nonetheless, she finished in the top five on the KLPGA money list, her best season to date.
Honey does not particularly want to play in the States, and so in 2007, she focused on the KLPGA. She did play in two LPGA events, but it seems her money earned at those events was unofficial, which probably means she qualified for them by means other than her LPGA standing. The first event was the Evian Masters, where she missed the cut. The second was the lone LPGA event in Korea, the Kolon-Hana Bank Championship. She played quite well there, notching her first career LPGA top five.
Hyun Hee did not maintain status on the LPGA tour for 2008 and played on the KLPGA tour thereafter. In 2009, she had a weaker than normal season on that tour, finishing 24th on the money list with three top tens during the year.
