A highly unorthodox swing proved devastatingly effective in 2005 as he won the national Opens of Indonesia, Taiwan and India, plus the Carlsberg Masters Vietnam, en route to topping the Asian Tour Order of Merit. His victory in the Enjoy Jakarta Standard Chartered Indonesia Open, an event co-sanctioned by The European Tour and the Asian Tour, earned him immediate elevation to European Tour Membership. Failed to reach such heady heights in 2006, finishing 80th on The European Tour Order of Merit and ninth in Asia. Enjoyed an impressive amateur career in the mid-1980s, highlighted in 1987 when he won the amateur championships of Singapore and Thailand as well as the individual and team title in the South East Asian Games. But it is his distinct swing which makes him most recognisable with his hands directly above his head at the top of the backswing and a long extended follow through. A lover of fast cars.
