Collected three top ten finishes in a steady 2010 season, where he finished 92nd in The Race to Dubai. In October 2007, he claimed the inaugural Portugal Masters title. The win was especially moving because he dedicated it to the memory of his beloved mother Val who died five months previously. Having dad Terry in the crowd watching him hole the winning putt made the moment extra special for the Englishman whose previous European Tour success had come in the 2005 Telecom Italia Open, a decade after he won the Qualifying School Final Stage. Rose to prominence in The 1995 Open Championship at St Andrews, beating Gordon Sherry and Tiger Woods to the Silver Medal given to the leading amateur after finishing tied 24th. Coached mentally by Andy Duncan, technically by Pete Cowen.
Barcelona, Spain – A penultimate-hole birdie saw the Glaswegian break clear of a log-jam atop of the board in a round of 66 on the El Prat course in Barcelona.
